Here at 82 & Up we are dedicated to protecting and helping members of America’s greatest generations, seniors age 82 years and older.
We are calling on Congress to pass a bill we refer to as The Elder Relief Act. This bill will increase the monthly Social Security benefits of older retirees by $85 a month and automatically increase benefits by 4 percent each year moving forward.
Let’s face it, healthcare, medical and prescription costs go up as we get older. And older Americans should receive fair COLA increases that reflect those increased expenses as we age. Americans contribute to Social Security throughout their careers, so we are not asking for a handout. We’ve earned our benefits and we are only asking for a fair COLA that reflects increased expenses we incur as we age.
